teach me the architecture of hokuto no ken, that sounds interesting

i’m not an expert or anything, but i find the huge stone palaces that the villains inhabit really interesting.

the building technology most of them have access to is probably somewhere between ancient and medieval, but at the same time, they have access to massive slave manpower.

they also benefit from having lived in pre-apocalypse 20th century, and as such being aware of architectural styles from all of history, as well as the kind of structural design that allows for buildings on skyscaper-scales. (if i remember rightly, shin’s palace in southern cross totally dwarfs all the pre-apocalypse skyscrapers surrounding it).

so you end up with guys living in these enormous towers, that are mostly mae of stone (since there’s no concrete or glass manufacturers, but you can always force a few hundred kids to dig you a quarry), but are much, much bigger than any ancient buildings, and are decorated with a mish-mash of roman pillars, stone reliefs, and other anachronistic displays of grandeur

i don’t know it buronson and hara put this much thought into it, but this is what it seems like.
